Time marches on and waits for no-one.
I had the privilege in the past few years of getting close to our dear departed Right Worshipful Brother who has just passed into the Eternal East . Though I knew Paul not in his prime but in his final years I would like to share a few words with you about him.

Max became a member of the Golden Throne Lodge, in Jerusalem, under the Scottish Constitution, which worked in Arabic, but initiated him in English. After some time he gathered a number of Arab, English and Jewish Brothers and in January 1931, they formed an English-Speaking Lodge, under the Scottish Constitution called the Holy City Lodge.

I first met Jack Levinson in 1946, in England .... in March 1948 he left, with his family for Haifa, after having stayed with us overnight, as by then all members of our families had become very friendly, in England, he became a member of Grays Inn Lodge E.C..

Born 1927 in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England.
He qualified as a dentist & practiced in Newcastle where he also served as a magistrate until he immigrated to Israel in 1978.

W.Bro. Gerald Berkow z"l

 

Gerry Berkow was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1923.
He was brought up and educated in Pretoria. After completing his basic schooling he studied pharmacy and after qualifying he practiced as a pharmacist in Pretoria.
